What is EarthTec?
EarthTec is a unique and innovative liquid copper algicide/bactericide.
The entire copper content in EarthTec is biologically active (Cu++).
This is the only form of copper that kills and controls microscopic organisms.
When EarthTec's copper penetrates a bacterial wall and membrane, it acts on the sites of RNA,
proteins and metabolic enzymes, disrupting the bacteria's replication process.
Small dosages of EarthTec in groundwater systems have been found to eliminate iron or manganese bacteria
and prevent their return. The use of EarthTec can also reduce or eliminate the need for other chemicals,
some of which are known to produce hazardous compounds when combined with organics in the water.
Many municipalities and industries rely on surface water to meet their needs.
In the treatment of potable water there are many tastes and odors encountered that are difficult to
combat. There are a number of chemical treatment processes currently being used to try and control
these problems. EarthTec will control algae, bacteria, taste and odor in potable water reservoirs
and treatment plants without the harmful disinfectant by-products created by oxidizers.
