Disinfectant-By-Products in
your community water?

Disinfectant-by-products are oxidized compounds formed when naturally occuring organic matter in water is combined with clorine or other oxidizers.

Trihalomethanes (THM's), HAA's (HA5), aldehydes.

Public health associations have identified these compounds as carcinogenic agents. EPA enforces maximum contamination levels (MCL) allowable in public drinking water.

Effective January 2008, EPA is reducing the MCL on DBP's. Average will no longer be allowed to evaluate a system.

EarthTec, a completely dissolved liquid copper algicide/bactericide which is registered with the Federal EPA and certified to NSF Standard 60, reduces DBP precursors (organics) before they combine with oxidizers.

All oxidizers react to organics the same way, that is to lyse (destroy) the cell which releases internal fluids. EarthTec is not an oxidizer but rather a reducer (shuts down the RNA) Which does not lyse the cell and creats no DBP's.

The most common method is injection at the water source using a chemical metering pump. EarthTec representatives can evaluate individual systems to determine the most effective and economical method of application.
